Utron was responsible for the design, supply, and installation of an automated logistics center for Scope Metal Trading & Technical Services Ltd. This large service center manages an extensive inventory of over 38,000 tons of 60,000 different metal and plastic products.
The system includes 3 AS/RS pallet cranes, 4 Miniloads, a pallets/totes conveying system, picking stations from pallets/totes, and pallet shuttles. This advanced setup ensures efficient storage, retrieval, and handling of various materials within the logistics center.
The automated logistics system features integrated automatic warehouse for pallets and boxes. The warehouse stores fittings, fasteners, flanges, valves, actuators, wires, welding materials, fire extinguishers, ventilation systems, and steam systems. The control and software components are based on Unitronics PLCs and UniStock™ WMS software, designed to manage material flow and automated storage in logistics systems while continuously exchanging information with the organization’s ERP system.
Scope Metal Trading required a reliable logistics system to manage the storage and retrieval of a vast inventory of metal and plastic products. The system needed to integrate seamlessly with Scope’s existing infrastructure and support high throughput demands, ensuring efficient handling of diverse materials.
