The system includes 6 AS/RS pallet cranes, a monorail system, and pallets conveyors. This advanced setup ensures efficient storage, retrieval, and handling of air cargo, optimizing space and productivity within the busy international air cargo terminal.

Technology

The automated logistics system consists of automated storage and retrieval systems, conveying elements, a monorail system, and control and software systems. The system provides a throughput of 300 pallet transactions per hour. The control and software components are based on Unitronics PLCs and other control software tools developed by Unitronics, such as UniStock™ WMS software, designed to manage material flow and automated storage in logistic systems while continuously exchanging information with the organization’s ERP system.

Challenge

Maman required a reliable logistics system to manage the storage and retrieval of air cargo within a busy international terminal. The system needed to integrate seamlessly with Maman’s existing infrastructure and support high throughput demands, ensuring efficient handling of inbound and outbound international flights.

Utron designed and implemented an automated logistics system featuring 6 AS/RS pallet cranes, a monorail system, and pallets conveyors. The system operates efficiently within an ambient environment, providing high-capacity storage and streamlined logistics operations. The integration with Unitronics’ proprietary control and software systems, including UniStock™ WMS, ensures seamless data exchange and optimized workflow.
