As the prime contractor for this project, Utron provided a full turn-key solution for site preparation, construction, and installation of a fully operational multi-building facility for the Israel Electric Company (IEC) northern logistic center. The project transformed a greenfield site into a fully operational facility, including an automated warehouse, logistics center, and surrounding infrastructure.
The system features a rack support racking system, 2 pallet AS/RS cranes, a Miniload system for plastic totes (~14,000 positions), pallets trolley, pallets picking stations, tote picking stations, and manual pallet racking. This setup ensures efficient storage, retrieval, and handling of various materials within the facility.
The automated warehouse includes interior systems for storing and retrieving pallets (HBW) and an AS/RS Miniload system for plastic totes. It also features picking stations, a conveying system, manual racking for odd-shaped items, and additional infrastructure such as fully furnished offices, conference rooms, a gym, kitchen, showers, parking lots, mezzanines, fences, and computer hardware.
The project required transforming a greenfield site into a fully operational logistics facility. This included site preparation, groundworks (including the disposal of hazardous materials), and obtaining necessary permits. The challenge also involved designing and constructing multiple buildings, installing automated storage and retrieval systems, and integrating all components to create a seamless operation.
